A Little About Daniel:
There’s excitement in the Hill Country! If you haven’t heard the buzz yet, there’s a lot going on at the HEB Kerrville Tennis Center. New Director and USPTA Tennis Pro Daniel Rubio has taken leadership over the facility, which is now known as the Hill Country Tennis Academy. There is so much being planned for players of all ages and levels! From private lessons, to clinics, family fun events, and so much more!
Daniel fell in love with the sport of Tennis 16 years ago and began as a professional 5 years later. As a Facility Manager for the NEISD Blossom Tennis Center in San Antonio, Texas he was able to embrace and harness his passion for teaching youths and adults alike. Over the past 3 years he has been the SATA JTT Coordinator and SATA Junior Chairman, is a current member of USTA Junior Committee, and has had the honor of being named the USTA Rookie Coordinator of the Year for 2015. From 2013 to 2018 he has led his Women’s 65+ team to two 2nd place victories at Nationals!
Daniel’s mission is to use the Hill Country Tennis Academy to cultivate an atmosphere in which to guide individual players, their families, and the Tennis Community as a whole toward building true passion and commitment for this amazing lifetime sport. His life motto and daily mantra is “play with a purpose” and he genuinely believes that Tennis is more than just a technical sport. There is an emphasis on developing relationships, excellent habits, community involvement and leadership through good sportsmanship and these values are central to the core of each lesson and clinic. The goal of this style of teaching is to create top notch players who exude these qualities both on and off the court.
